The Internet Umbrella. 兼具數位相機、GPS、上網、瀏覽Flickr 以及Google Earth顯示功能的雨傘.其中最重要的兩個功能就是A Social Photo-sharing(看照片) and A 3D Map Navigation(看地圖)。

Pileus is an umbrella connected to the Internet that allows you to download pictures and display them on its top surface. It also has a built-in camera and various sensors that allows the umbrella to connect to Google Earth.
The umbrella is connected to Flickr which makes it possible to view photo-streams, and also to upload pictures from a built-in camera. Images from the photo-streams can be browsed with a flick of the wrist.
Pileus also has built-in GPS, a motion sensor, and a digital compass, which, when combined with Google Earth’s functions automatically display your current location on the umbrella’s screen. This feature provides a kind of augmented reality, by combining the real place with real-time information downloaded from the internet.

Pileus was created by Sho Hashimoto and Takashi Matsumoto of Keio University Okude Lab, and has been on display at the Breakthrough exhibition at San Francisco Arts Commissions Gallery.
